'Queen for a Day' contest seeks nominees

A local woman could receive "the royal treatment" just for doing what comes naturally, if only she signs up.
The first-ever winner of the "Queen for a Day" award, given out by the Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association and the Chatham County Council on Aging, will be decided Tuesday. The award is designed to give a local caregiver for a chronically ill or disabled family member or loved one a day off for their hard work while also raising awareness about age-related disease.
